Improvisation I
Training for ensemble and solo improvisation through the study of tonality and figured basses, motivic and structural concepts,
jazz, Eastern and Western modality and free expression. Creative skills are highlighted, with inclusion of oral/aural
traditions of any culture embraced.
Prerequisites: MU290A, MU290B, or permission of instructor by audition.
Exclusions: MU364A.
